Music legend and Icon Kenny Rogers will perform “The Rock Of Your Love,” a song from his critically acclaimed new gospel album, The Love Of God, with Dove Award winners Point of Grace at the 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards this week. The show will be taped live on Wednesday, April 20 at the historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, and will air on Easter Sunday, April 24 at 7 p.m. ET on GMC.
Point of Grace, who has 27 No. 1 hits on the Contemporary Christian chart, is a guest artist on The Love Of God, which is available exclusively at all Cracker Barrel locations nationwide and www.crackerbarrel.com.
In addition to moving the masses with his music, Rogers is an accomplished photographer and his photography graces a wall calendar which is also available exclusively at all Cracker Barrel locations. The 18-month calendar, printed on glossy paper stock, features stunning photos of beautiful churches Rogers shot while on tour in the United States and Europe.
Kenny’s latest album, The Love Of God, is a warm and inviting inspirational collection of twelve uplifting songs sung only the way Rogers can sing them. Marked by strikingly fresh musical and vocal arrangements, the first gospel album ever by Rogers includes classic songs that have touched him musically and spiritually through the years dating back to his childhood, along with moving new recordings of contemporary songs co-written by Vince Gill, Michael McDonald, Michael W. Smith and others. The album includes “Amazing Grace,” “I’ll Fly Away (featuring The Whites),” “In The Sweet By And By (featuring Winfield’s Locket),” and “Will The Circle Be Unbroken.” The album has reached #7 on the Top Country Albums chart, #2 on the Top Christian Albums chart and #27 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
Kenny Rogers is currently working on writing his autobiography, tentatively scheduled for a fall 2011 release by HarperCollins. The autobiography will be Kenny’s first and packed with fascinating stories from his illustrious career.
"I must admit, the older I get, the more interesting my life used to be,” commented Rogers. “I also realized that if I don't do it now, I may forget it all."
Kenny is also gearing up for his first-ever tour of South America – a five-date run in May that includes stops in Buenos Aires, Argentina (5/18 & 5/23); Punta del Este, Uruguay (5/20); Santiago, Chile (5/21); and Bogotá, Columbia (5/26).
