Robert Miles to release new EP

New single ‘Miniature World’ and ‘Thirteen Remixes EP’ Released 5/23 (S:alt Records) Pre-Order Robert Miles 'Thirteen' Deluxe Edition Here After selling over fourteen million records world-wide, playing around the globe and working with a host of instrumental collaborators - including early influence Robert Fripp and Bill Laswell, as well as contemporary composers such as Nitin Sawhiney and Trilok Gurtu – Miles has gradually redefined his artistic freedom. These releases look set to continue in the same vein, another addition to a body of work that’s come to distinguish Miles as a truly unique artist, a contemporary composer. Following his massively successful journey into new auditory frontiers, the ever changing, constantly progressing artist Robert Miles is set to release yet more fruitful offerings from his richly textured fourth album Th1rt3en. Building on the original’s progressive and jazz influenced compositions, the track Miniature World will be released with a remix by the artist himself, whilst three remixes of songs from the album will also be released as a separate Th1rt3en Remixes EP, on S:alt Records. Building up to the release of his highly anticipated seventh studio album, to be release later this year, Robert Miles and S:alt Records are offering fans two terrific tasters in the form of his first single 'Miniature World' from the album ' Th1rt3en' as well as a remix EP out the same day, which boasts stella remixes of various tracks from his forthcoming full-length album. If Th1rt3en is Mile’s improvising in mood - with rhythm as the key - the Th1rt3en Remixes EP sees his original tracks transcended out of the personal and into the collective, inhabiting a newfound urgency that speaks as much to the dance floor as they do to the brain. For the first single Miniature World from the album, Miles’ remix employs Charlie Grant’s reflective vocal to transmit a joyous epiphany: an atmospheric progression that traces Miles’ influences from jazz to the percussive beats of Pink Floyd and Vangelis. Guaranteed to soundtrack the tumultuous splendor of summer, ‘Miniature World’ explores the outer limits of synthesised sounds to blissful effect. Packaged with the original album version, in which Miles’ eschews Grant’s vocal, instead pursuing the tracks ambient, cinematic tone, as Dave Okumu’s (The Invisible) keening guitar lines illuminate the unique beats that have become Miles’ trademark. Staying true to Miles' ethos that music should “take you on a journey”, Miles' new compositions and remix selections fuse Prog, Ambient noise, Electronica and Electro-rock, further continuing Miles’ love and exploration into sun bursting, radiant soundscapes. www.robert-miles.com www.saltrecords.com www.facebook.com/robertmilespage www.uk.myspace.com/robertmilesofficial
