Michael Haussler coming to La Canada Flintridge

On Thursday, June 23 at 7:30 P.M., Flintridge Bookstore & Coffeehouse hosts Michael Haussler, author of Results May Vary.

In Michael Haussler debut novel, Results May Vary, he tackles the very tough and very real problems that confronts a teacher and a student on a day in a Los Angeles high school. His writing is rich and descriptive; his years as an educator give the book realism, you feel the frustration but still sense of hope.

Michael Haussler has been teaching in Los Angeles for thirty years in both public and private high school settings. He currently teaches at California State University, Los Angeles, where he trains and supervises new teachers in the credential program. He grew up in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Boston, and he has lived in London, Paris, and Cannes in the south of France. He has made Los Angeles his home, where he lives with his fiancée and writes fiction and children’s stories. “What motivated me to write this book was seeing firsthand the way education can alternately inspire or crush the dreams of young people. Education is the key to our future, but ironically, few have meaningful contact with it.”
