Rose Leaf Ragtime Club at Wang's Place in Monrovia April 29

After six years at the Aztec Hotel, starting with the April 29 meeting the Rose Leaf Club will meet at a new location, Wang’s Place, 120 E. Lemon Ave., Monrovia, in the old town area. After stepping into the foyer, enter the separate meeting room through the door to your right. The meeting time will continue as before, the last Sunday of the month from 1:00 p.m. until approximately 4:30 p.m. Owner Jeffrey Wang has promised us a scrumptious Chinese buffet at a reasonable price. Free parking is available in several adjoining city-owned lots.

The Aztec Hotel was foreclosed by the lending bank and is planned to be auctioned March 31. The interim manager had advised moving our pianos out before the potential ownership change on April 1. Faced with uncertainty about the future of the hotel, Hal Leavens searched the old town Monrovia area for alternative meeting sites and found Wang’s, a first-class Chinese restaurant with a meeting room that can easily accommodate 50 customers. Owner Jeffrey Wang enthusiastically agreed to host the club and to store our pianos. Following the March meeting Club management met at Wang’s and determined that the move would be in the best interests of the Club.
