Miles for Melanoma 5K run/walk May 6 in Hollywood

Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) and Pale Girl SPEAKS are hosting a Miles for Melanoma 5K run/walk on May 6 at 7:30 a.m. on the Universal Studios backlot in Hollywood, California.

At the event, runners and walkers will be able to sample skin protection products, take part in the Style experience tent and see some of Hollywood’s most iconic film sets. Music will be provided by the sensational The 88. Top fundraisers are eligible to win one of three custom made gold and black diamond necklaces made by celebrity jewelry designer Maya Brenner, two vacation getaways, four tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood with front of the line passes, three box sets of Universal Centennial Celebration DVD titles, and a $200 or $100 gift certificate to Mott 50 sun protective clothing products.

MRF is the largest independent, national organization devoted to melanoma in the United States. Pale Girl SPEAKS, founded by melanoma activist Hillary Fogelson, is an online resource providing practical advice and tips for living safely in the sun. The run/walk will take place on the backlot of the studio where Hillary's husband, Adam Fogelson, serves as the Chairman of the motion picture group.
