Scott Matthew in LA April 11 in support of new album

New York songwriter Scott Matthew released his new album Gallantry’s Favorite Son digitally on February 7th, and now he's heading West for a rare Los Angeles show at The Echo on April 11th with Dorian Wood and Tommy Santee Klaws. He also recently shared the free MP3 for his track “Sinking,” along with a live video of him performing the song at his record release show in Berlin this past summer.

Of “Sinking,” Scott says “it’s my favorite on the album. Written under pecan trees in the Australian summer. It is a song I am proud of for it's honesty and simplicity. Oh, and love the gospel back up vocals so much.”

Already drawing comparisons to Antony Hegarty and androgynous-era Bowie, the Australian-born songwriter tackles issues like bigotry, intolerance and afterlives. Administering to the listener’s innermost core, he offers a cocktail of dark cabaret, restorative folk and gently caressing ballads.
