Nati Cano & Los Camperos tribute in LA Sept. 15

Colibri Entertainment Presents
¡VIVA LA TRADICION!
Saturday, September 15th

"A Tribute to Nati Cano and
Los Camperos"

It is hard to imagine a time in the United States when Mariachi music was close to non-existent. "Viva La Tradicion" is dedicated to the history of Mariachi in Los Angeles through the eyes of Nati Cano. It's a musical account of how that tradition came from Mexico to Los Angeles and how it gained tremendous popularity through the evolution and advancement of Mariachi Los Camperos over 50 years. The evening displays Nati Cano's beginnings in Mexico through his establishment of L.A.'s La Fonda Restaurant, collaboration with Linda Ronstadt and massively popular touring show Fiesta Navidad. Special guest performers Folklore Pasion Mexicana, Mariachi Tesoro de San Fernando and, of course, Los Camperos, portray the life of this charismatic musician.

This 2 1/2 hour show will take place on September 15, 2012 at 8:00 p.m.at the John Anson Ford Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The evening is the brainchild of Artistic, Executive Director and CEO of Colibri Entertainment, Susie Garcia, who started her company in 2009. Although quite small in its first year of existence, it has grown consistently over the last three years. She has vast experience as a musician and successful career as a Mariachi and musical director.

In the last five years, Susie started to really think about the lack of creativity that was put into the shows she was seeing in the Latino market. She decided that she had the heart, the drive and the tools to make an impact on the cultural arts as well as a creative vision that would change the face of how Mariachi music is perceived and enjoyed. Accepted into the Ford Amphitheatre's Summer Partnership Program, she has now been given the opportunity to produce such as show at a well respected venue.

Ticket prices start at $35-$55and $28-$44 for full-time students with ID and children 12 and under. Tickets are available at www.FordTheatres.org or 323 461-3673 (for non-visual media 323 GO 1-FORD). For groups of 8 or more, please call 323 769-2147.
