Pasadena Museum of History offers holiday fun

  This holiday season Pasadena Museum of History is a prime destination for locals and visitors alike.  Tour a historic Mansion; discover the zany and creative fun of Doo Dah, Pasadena’s “other parade,” and the saga of the railway that once connected our communities;  shop for official Tournament of Roses® merchandise and for gifts and souvenirs from over 40 local artists and artisans.
                Pasadena Museum of History is located at the corner of Orange Grove Boulevard and Walnut Street (470 W. Walnut St., Pasadena 91103), just minutes away from the Rose Bowl, Old Pasadena’s shops and restaurants, and a number of other fine museums and attractions.  The Museum’s 2012 holiday schedule is as follows:
·         Fenyes Mansion Tours – Docent-guided tours of this historic 1906 Beaux Arts residence on Pasadena’s famed “Millionaire’s Row” are offered at 12:15 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays ( December 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 & 30).

·         Exhibitions – On view 12:00 to 5:00 pm Wednesdays through Sundays in the History Center Galleries: What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been: 35 Years of the Doo Dah Parade and Pacific Electric Railway, Then and Now.   

·         Museum Store and Tournament Connection Shop –The Tournament Connection Shop inside the Museum Store offers official Rose Parade and Rose Bowl merchandise year ‘round.  During the holidays, the Shop expands to include a full line of gifts and souvenirs related to the Rose Parade and Bowl Game. The Museum Store offers a wide variety of art and gift items by area artists and artisans, as well as a wide selection of books related to local history and other Pasadena memorabilia.    Hours: 12:00 to 5:00 pm Wednesdays through Sundays.  Open 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 30 and 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Monday, December 31.
