Ten, new super group, is here

Effective Immediately PR is pleased to announce the debut of TEN - the premiere alternative rock trio comprised of music virtuosos Thomas Pridgen (Grammy Award-winning drummer, Mars Volta), Eric McFadden (guitar and lead vocals, pFunk), and Norwood Fisher (bass and back-up vocals, Fishbone).  The three musicians came together one year ago on April 1st to form their unique sound that fuses straight-ahead rock music with punk, funk and soul.  The super-trio will mark their 1st anniversary with releasing a limited edition original version 4-track EP on April 1, 2013.  TEN will also make its performance debut beginning April 3, 2013, touring California with New Orleans funk band Dumpstaphunk.

The origins of TEN (acronym for Thomas, Eric and Norwood) began with a chance meeting between Fisher and McFadden during a Fishbone tour in McFadden’s hometown of Albuquerque, NM in the mid-nineties.  A drunken late-night jam session ensued and the two musicians continued to cross paths over the years.  After a number of collaborations since then, the duo decided to add a third member, and Pridgen was the obvious choice.  On April 1st, 2012, the trio was officially born when they first got together at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco to record their first tracks.

Each of the three musicians comes with their own monster performance resume.  A child prodigy, Pridgen was the youngest recipient of a 4-year scholarship to Berklee College of Music at age 15.  Pridgen has been recognized with numerous titles by Modern Drummer Magazine and received a Grammy Award in 2009 as the drummer for The Mars Volta.  Heralded by Guitar Player Magazine as "the closest thing SF has to a modern day Hendrix", McFadden has toured the world with the likes of George Clinton/P-Funk, Stockholm Syndrome and Eric Bourdon/The Animals.  In addition to collaborating with other top artists, McFadden has consistently recorded and toured the world as frontman of his own groups such as EMT and The Angry Babies.  Fisher is best known as one of the most influential bass players of our time, primarily as the bassist and founding member of the legendary funk/ska band Fishbone which began in 1979 and continues strong today.  Fishbone signed to Columbia Records in 1983, achieved Billboard chart success, reaching #49 on the album chart, and has toured internationally with the likes of the Beastie Boys and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The power trio will release their limited edition EP on April 1st, 2013, and their debut full-length album will follow in October 2013.  The EP will be available via iTunes as well as during their tour with Dumpstaphunk in April.
