Matt Wertz to tour in support of new album
Nashville-based musician Matt Wertz will be in California to celebrate the release of his new album, Heatwave, at Bootleg Theater in LA on September 12th and The Observatory in Santa Ana on the 13th.
Matt's forthcoming release, Heatwave, captures an era in music inspired by the rock heroes of the 80s; Kenny Loggins, Richard Marx, Don Henley, Bryan Adams, etc. Matt has set out to pay homage to the musicians he grew up listening to by creating Heatwave, a collection of songs boasting crisp drum beats and jangly guitar solos, along with the characteristically smooth vocals that fans have come to expect of Wertz. Originally from Liberty, MO, Matt has spent the past 12 years pursuing his music career in Nashville, TN. After having released several albums on major labels including Universal Republic and Nettwerk Records, Matt is now independently releasing Heatwave on his own label, Handwritten Records. Keeping with the 80s influence Heatwave will be released as a limited cassette run with a hand thrifted Walkman players signed by Matt! The album, which is set for an August 27th release, will also be available on vinyl, CD, and at all digital retailers.

Triple Chicken Foot as opening act is much more than icing on the cake. Will Yip to release compilation album
Multi-genre producer and engineer WILL YIP will be releasing Off The Board: A Studio 4 Family Compilation featuring un-released songs from a slew of bands including Title Fight, Circa Survive, and Man Overboard on October 8, 2013. “This comp represents everything that I’ve done in the past ten years of my life,” explains Yip. Proceeds are being used for a down payment toward his partnership in the legendary Studio 4 located in Conshohocken, PA. “I want to give the punk, hardcore, and alternative community of awesome bands a home,” he adds.
Unlike any other compilation, Off The Board: A Studio 4 Family Compilation was recorded, mixed, and mastered at the same studio by one person - Will Yip which gives it the feel of an album due to the consistency of the mixing, mastering, and studio gear. Also, most of the songs were specifically written for this project. It includes un-released songs and B-sides by Title Fight, Circa Survive, Polar Bear Club, None More Black,Balance And Composure, Man Overboard, Tigers Jaw, Daylight, Pity Sex, Anthony Green, Citizen,Dead End Path, Sainthood Reps, Turnover, Lightyears, Mongoloids, and Koji.
