On Saturday, October 5, 2013, we again celebrate Duarte Festival of Authors! For more than ten years, the Friends of Duarte Library has provided opportunities for authors to mingle with more than fifty other authors and hundreds of readers at Westminster Gardens, 1420 Santo Domingo Rd, in Duarte, California (just 10 minutes east of Pasadena) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. As part of the Festival you will have a table to display, sell and sign your books, as well as an opportunity to be part of panel discussions. You may view previous festivals on our website at http://www. friendsoftheduartelibrary.com.
Please register soon so you can take advantage of the Early Bird registration which is $100 for a table until August 15, 2013. After that, the fee is $125. Your fee includes a table (8 ft.), table cover, two chairs, and lunch (compliments of Westminster Gardens). You may bring your own 10’ X 10’ canopy, or if you would like, we will rent one for you at our cost of $75. In addition, you will be included in publicity materials and highlighted on our Festival website with a link to your site. Bring your books, sell them on site, and retain the proceeds!
Our Festival is publicized by Barrow/Hoffman Public Relations in print media and local TV coverage. Vroman’s Bookstore, a leading independent bookseller, will again promote the Festival and supply books for sale for our featured author. Vroman’s is also willing to supply copies for purchase of your books if they carry them in their stores.
Proceeds generated by this event go directly to support the Duarte Library programs, special events, and book purchases. The Friends goal is to celebrate the written word and the magic of reading, which you will help us do.
The Duarte Festival of Authors has more personal appeal, more one-on-one with a diverse audience, and the location has an ambience that is unmatched anywhere. And if the gods are against us, we have a rain plan! We can’t think of a better site to promote and sell your books!
Attached is an application. Looking forward to having you join us this year onSaturday, October 5. It should be the best Festival yet!
