GREETINGS to Dancers and Friends of the Sunday evening SHIMMY SHOWCASE at Coffee Haven Internet Cafe in Long Beach, CA!

Shimmyshowcase features veterans Reina and Cynthia this week and welcomes Sylvia to our group of talented performers. Founding coordinator Alexiis is sure to introduce some of her students as well!

September 14: Fine performers, like Reina and Cynthia, break ground and help prepare the way for student talent. In the effort to continue in long-standing Shimmy Showcase tradition, Alexiis is delighted to welcome Sylvia and her students to our happy magic carpets. Please bring your support to this show and these newest rising stars!

September 21: It’s the first “official” day of autumn; the fall equinox where daylight and nighttime hours are balanced. Shimmy showcase is a great place to stay balanced if you’re a dancer or simply watch some fabulous dancing as part of our fantastic audience. Xandra welcomes the lovely Yasmin and Meryem Vani and introduces two new stars, Samia and Zahava, for this evening’s entertainment. Why don’t you come down to Coffee Haven and let Shimmyshowcase help you stay balanced?

September 28th: Saviya is once again out-doing herself in presenting live music by Fernan Cobian on Arabic Ude, accompanied by live percussion! We all love the unexpected excitement of LIVE music to which Ritchie, Najma, Taji and Eveleah will join Saviya in adding their impressive and thrilling movements to create exceptional artistry. Don't miss this show!

October 5: Abraiha presents May, Mia, Saphira and Gaea who will dazzle you with gorgeous costumes and mesmerize with sinuous movements.

October 12: Your coordinator Saviya brings more live music with Fernan Cobian and dancing by Ritchie, Najma and others for another fabulous showcase. Rumor has it that this showcase will be Gothic-inspired....

October 19: Coordinator Alexiis presents Cynthia, Tehani and Reina for a cool fall evening of hot dancing as these accomplished performers demonstrate the beauty and breadth of the bellydance spectrum with their amazing moves.

October 26: Coffee Haven gets spooky as Xandra presents dancers Zahir and Eve of Troupe Zagareet and poetry by Christopher Villa. There may be some vampires in the mix, so you might want to bring your crosses and garlic—but no wooden stakes please! We have openings for a couple more dancers, so please contact us at Shimmyshowcase@yahoogroups.com if you want to be part of the fun!

Please allow time for parking to avoid missing any of the fun, so be sure to be at the coffee house well before 7:00 PM. We try not to start the show until everyone has settled with a tasty beverage.
