Chickenfoot to appear at Best Buy in West L.A.

WHO: Chickenfoot, the highly anticipated new rock group, comprised of guitar hero Joe Satriani, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and frontman Sammy Hagar. Long before these four rock icons came together to form Chickenfoot, they already had filled the pages of rock history with enough individual mind-blowing chapters to boggle the mind of any fan or musician alike. Satriani had his own blazing solo career as a much respected guitar virtuoso; Chad Smith is the drummer of world renowned rock band The Red Hot Chili Peppers; and Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar have been working together since their days as bassist and lead singer, respectively, in Van Halen.

WHAT: Chickenfoot will make an in-store appearance at the West Los Angeles Best Buy store to greet fans and sign autographs on the day of the U.S. release of their self-titled debut album, Chickenfoot. Autographs will be on a first come, first serve basis; and they will only be autographing copies of their new album, Chickenfoot.

WHERE: Best Buy - West Los Angeles
11301 Pico Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90064

WHEN: Friday, June 5, 2009
8:00 – 9:00PM Band Meet & Greet

OTHER: Chickenfoot’s first single, “Oh Yeah,” has been embraced by radio, currently charting as the #1 single on the Classic Rock charts and the #1 most added single in the mainstream rock charts. The band will wrap their nine-city Road Test tour on Friday, May 29th at TLA in Philadelphia, PA. The new album will be released through major retailers and digitally on June 5th and is available for pre-sale through Best Buy at www.bestbuy.com/chickenfoot. Just prior to the in-store appearance, Chickenfoot will make their first ever TV performing appearance during the first week of Conan O’Brien’s Tonight Show airing the same evening, Friday, June 5th. Chickenfoot will head to Europe for four weeks of festivals and headline dates starting June 20th at the Nova Rock Festival in Austria and will return for more yet-to-be announced North American tour dates.

Chickenfoot’s first live performances have received rave reviews: “The tracks are as driving as you’d expect given the group’s lineup and the fans ate up songs such as the bluesy, ‘Sexy Little Thing’ (‘She can drive and not get wasted/Stoner’s dream on a Friday night’), the rocking ‘Oh Yeah’ (‘When I was a young man I slept around/When I turned 30, I settled down’), and the grungy ‘Get It Up.’ All four musicians seemed to be having a blast…” Rolling Stone, May 15, 2009

Chickenfoot’s self-titled debut is an 11-track hard rock album that sets the standard for rock music in the new millennium. Chickenfoot is produced by Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones) and mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica).

Hello MixMax!

I interviewed Michael Anthony last week and now I'm doubly excited to see Chickenfoot live! We'll have to compare concert notes.

Keep on rockin'
