Tattoos for the Cure set for Oct. 10 in Pomona

Join Terry Dipple, owner of Ink’d Chronicles for a day (and night) of art, music and charity on Saturday, October 10, 2009 for the 2nd Annual Tattoos for the Cure. From noon until midnight the artists at Ink’d Chronicles will be tattooing pink breast cancer awareness ribbons and other designs as requested and doing piercings, with all of the proceeds from the event going to the Breast Health Program at the Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center. The minimum tax-deductable donation is $80, depending on the size and detail of the tattoo and piercings for $35. Terry Dipple hopes to exceed last year’s event, which raised $4,000 for the cancer care center.

In addition to tattoos and piercings, there will be an art show featuring tattoo-inspired art, raffles, prizes and live music from 5:00 PM until 11:30 PM. The list of bands will be finalized in September. Once again, there is no charge for art show and music.

Breast cancer touches everyone and Terry Dipple is no different. Last year, his fiancé was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was treated at the Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center, which is part of Pomona Valley Community Hospital and her prognosis is good. To show his love and support, Terry got a pink breast cancer awareness ribbon tattoo, last year and so did his daughter, Tess who works at Ink’d Chronicles as a piercer.

The slogan at Ink’d Chronicles is "Every tattoo has a story" and at last year’s Tattoos for the Cure, Terry Dipple heard many moving stories from cancer survivors and friends and relatives who had lost a loved one to breast cancer. The event moved him and all who participated so he and his artists are doing Tattoos for the Cure again this year.

What can you do to help? Become a corporate or individual sponsor. You do not have to get a tattoo to be a sponsor. However, if you want to get a breast cancer awareness ribbon or other tattoo in memory of or honoring a loved one, you can sign up by contacting Ink’d Chronicles. Sponsors and participants will receive tickets to the VIP reception being held the night of the event.

Ink’d Chronicles is a tattoo and piercing studio and art gallery located in the Pomona Arts Colony at 264 W. 2nd Street, Pomona, CA 91766. For more information, contact Terry Dipple at Ink’d Chronicles (909) 622-5351 or terry@inkdchronicles.com.
