9PM: SAMANTHA STOLLENWERCK (www.samanthamusic.com)
'Cali-soul' is the term Samantha uses to describe her sound; a unique blend of soulful pop rock that has landed her on bills with the likes of Dave Matthews Band and Ziggy Marley. She recently finished a record with producer, Sheryl Crow’s Producer Jeff Trott and collaborated with songwriter Danielle Brisebois who was a co-writter on Natasha Bedingfield's hit singles, "Unwritten" and "Pocket Full of Sunshine". Samantha rounded out the record by bringing aboard Grammy award winning mixer, Manny Marroquin (Alicia Keyes, Usher, Kanye West) to bump up the grooves. Samantha is looking forward to playing her new songs live this summer as well as for her 2009 release of her new record and single, "Carefree".
10PM: STEREOFOX (www.stereofoxband.com)
Stereofox is a new band based in the NoHo arts district of Los Angeles, emerging onto the music scene with its seductive new sound. Drawing influence from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Miles Davis, Jamiroquai; Stereofox brings back the old soulful vibes of roots, Motown, jazz and blues; fusing them all into their unique pop/melodic style. In February 2009, the group finished it’s debut CD Ice The Symphony. Produced by renowned keyboardist Deron Johnson (Miles Davis, Seal, Alanis Morissette), and featuring drum guru Gary Novak (Chick Corea, Allan Holdsworth, Robben Ford) on several tracks, the CD beautifully captures the Stereofox sound, complete with lush harmonies and layered guitars. Released independently, and packaged with entirely recycled materials (the group has asked fans to donate used CD jewel cases), Symphony is available on iTunes, Amazon, and CDbaby.com.
11PM: PETER GOETZ (www.outsideobserver.com)
Peter Goetz (Getz) lures in colorful crowds on nearly every continent. His tunes combine a soulful California beach-laden style with a dose of raw emotion and lyrical grit, echoing the solitude and depth of a lone troubadour. The singer, who has visited more than 50 countries as a traveler and filmmaker, fuses his passion for storytelling and songwriting to uplift listeners of all cultures. Exposed to a potpourri of the world’s cultures, Goetz gained fluency in Spanish and Portuguese, broadened his songwriting skills, and found his voice serenading international crowds around campfires. He used his wide range of skills to direct a bilingual documentary feature film about Peruvian surfer Sofia Mulanovich, which won critical acclaim on the festival circuit, before releasing his first recorded music, an EP entitled “Outside Observer.” The single “I Got Love” benefited the most from his travels, as Goetz was able to team up with the The Che Che Group, a Nairobi based A Cappella octet, to create an African version of the song while on a humanitarian mission for HOPE (Helping Other People Everywhere).
MIDNIGHT: ROB MICHAELS (www.myspace.com/robmichaels)
Rob Michaels’ popular, alternative-rock sound and energetic stage presence has led him to perform and write for many amazing artists including Toto, John Waite, Steve Lukather, Carlos Santana, The Goo Goo Dolls and Chris Daughtry. Obscene Magazine (April 2009) wrote: “Rob’s music is a unique style of rock and roll that is beyond compare. The passion in his lyrics, singing, and amazing guitar rifts draws the listener in, having them beg for more.”
