Cheap Girls on tour in support of new album

Today Paper + Plastick Records announces that My Roaring 20’s, the new album from Lansing, Michigan’s CHEAP GIRLS, is available for pre-order exclusively at www.paperandplastick.com.

Fans excited for the new album can get an exclusive sneak peek at the album by visiting the band’s profile on AbsolutePunk.net, which is streaming the ten track album: www.absolutepunk.net/artists/showlink.php?do=showdetails&l=23422

Earlier this year Cheap Girls recorded My Roaring 20’s, their sophomore album, with Rick Johnson (of Bomb The Music Industry and Mustard Plug), who also manned the boards for the trio’s acclaimed debut, Find Me A Drink Home. My Roaring 20’s finds Cheap Girls building on their jangly, 90’s indie-rock a-la Evan Dando sound, which AbsolutePunk.net says is “a breath of fresh air and a welcome listen to those who loved the raw and sloppy tendencies of 90’s indie and alternative,” and left Time Out Chicago to claim “Those still high on the ’90s revival after Pitchfork will flip their flannel for Cheap Girls, a Michigan power-pop trio that seemingly stopped buying records when Buffalo Tom and Lemonheads got dropped from major labels.”

When fans pre-order the album, they will receive a vinyl copy as well as a CD version, and will be issued a digital download of My Roaring 20’s immediately.

“We spent a little more time recording My Roaring 20's,” says bassist/vocalist Ian Graham. “What some would consider overkill was something we felt a bit more necessary. Find Me A Drink Home was recorded in four days, so with this one, we had a bit more time to redo all of the things that we thought we may think about negatively after the fact. We definitely wanted this to be the one that felt right to us.”

In celebration of the new album, Cheap Girls will hit the road with Paper + Plastick labelmates Failures’ Union, who also embrace the cool sounds of the 90’s, and will be playing lots of new material (see all dates below).

“The song 'Hey Hey, I'm Worn Out' is definitely one we enjoy playing. It’s the kind of the tried and true rocker of the record. It has the loud guitar solo, the vocals that go here and there, and the snare and floor-tom hit combo. It's one of the songs that sounds fresh to us over and over,” says Graham.

Cheap Girls is Ian Graham (bass/vocals), brother Ben Graham (drums) and Adam Aymor (drums).
