The Pasadena Public Works Department will hold a compost bin sale at the Victory Park Farmers Market on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Soil Saver compost bins are available for $50 each, payable by cash or check. Composting helps improve soil structure and saves home gardeners money and water. Backyard composting also reduces the amount of waste that would otherwise go to landfills.
Staff will provide information on improving plant growth by using certain kitchen scraps and lawn cuttings, and by cultivating worms. Spanish translation will be available.
The Farmers Market is located in the parking lot south of Pasadena High School, 2925 E. Sierra Madre Blvd.
