Gabrieleno Tribe seeks support in blocking Montebello Hills project

Help Support Your Local Native American
Gabrieleno Tribe
By protesting against
The Montebello Hills Project,
aka Whittier Narrows.
Cook Hill Properties, LLC
wants to build on our beautiful
Historic Isantcange-na village.

Our village will, no doubt, have extremely sensitive
cultural resources.
Our ancestors’ burial sites will be disturbed forever!
Our ancestor’s personal artifacts will be removed
from their homes!

Our ancestors’ village will be destroyed forever!

Please help us fight against destroying yet
another precious Native American village site.

Help us preserve our beautiful California land!

If you would like to help, please call
Andy Salas at (626) 926-4131.

Join the Gabrieleno Indians in solidarity with fellow residents, businesses and numerous organizations (including The Sierra Club) in protest against the proposed development of the Montebello Hills and adjacent Whittier Narrows at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the City of Montebello City Hall, located at 1600 W. Beverly Blvd., Montebello, Ca. 90640

Your announcement needs correction-The two projects you mention are separate-the Montebello City Council does not have authority over the Whittier Narrows Project... that is sponsored by the Rivers and Mountains Conservancy, a state agency and a Water Company/District.... The Montebello Hills Specific Plan is the one sponsored and promoted by Cook Hill Properties, LLC and is the one upon the Montebello City Council will vote eventually.......it woul be better to separate them won't be confusion and your gropu will be more credible... for more information go to www.saveourmontebellohills.com or contact me, Margot Eiser Co-Founder of the Task Force opposing the Montebello Hills project, my email is:

Thank you for the info Margot. I didn't write the announcement, just passing it on for a Tribe member reader. I hope things work out for the best for everyone.
