Q-Tip announces the premiere of the video for “Life Is Better” featuring Norah Jones today on YouTube. The Grammy Award winners collaborate on this smooth, funk-jazz track from Q-Tip’s 2008 album The Renaissance. As heard, the duo celebrates the rich history of hip-hop starting with Kool Herc to current hitmakers such as Jay-Z and Kanye.

Having made many of 2008’s year end “best of” lists, The Renaissance continues to gain recognition with a 2009 BET Hip-Hop Awards nomination for “CD of the Year.” The awards show is scheduled to premiere Oct. 27th at 8:00pm on BET.

While Q-Tip is still riding the success of The Renaissance, his newest album was years in the making. After struggling with his previous label to put out the shelved Kamaal the Abstract, he finally found a home for it at Battery Records. The long-awaited September 15th, 2009 release with its daring mélange of soul, supa-cool jazz, head nodding hip-hop, and organic pop magic was re-mixed and re-mastered for sonic impact.
