Spontaneous Fantasia coming to Glendale Planetarium

Spontaneous Fantasia, the high-tech virtual reality show, is returning to the Glendale Planetarium with a completely new show--The Omnicentric Universe. Creator J-Walt's artistic and technological wizardry is at its best as he creates a planet in real-time and populates it with plants, artifacts and dancing creatures, all projected on the immersive digital fulldome theater of the Glendale Community College Planetarium. Audience members will lie back in comfortable reclining seats and marvel as a totally unique story of creation is told through color, music, movement and real-time animation. Spontaneous Fantasia is an exciting show to be enjoyed by the whole family, including children five years of age and older.

Performances begin Friday, October 9 at 8:00 pm and continue on select week ends through December 12. Visit www.spontaneousfantasia.com for show dates, times and to purchase tickets. Admission is $13 to $15 for adults and $5 to $8 for children five to twelve years of age. Group discounts are also available. Free parking on campus. The planetarium is at 1500 N. Verdugo Road. Spontaneous Fantasia is a groundbreaking art form invented by J-Walt in 2003 after years of work in visual effects and animation for movies, TV, and theme parks. In his varied career with companies such as Disney and Sony, J-Walt has received numerous awards and accolades, including an Academy Award and a THEA award. The Omnicentric Universe is the second-generation show of Spontaneous Frantasia, and in it J-Walt has invented new techniques that push the boundaries beyond what he initially pioneered in real-time animation performance. As J-Walt creates and improvises before their eyes, the audience will enjoy a morphing and entirely original cosmo springing from the artist's fertile and inventive mind.
