Local jazz/dub/reggae band Thelonious Dub is celebrating their new album, "Thelonious Dub," with a CD release party at Home Restaurant in Silverlake Oct. 24. The all-sizzling instrumental effort boasts covers from Monk, Miles, Shorter and Mingus, plus original material.

Live, T-Dub offers up a stirring performance, stretching their repertoire to include eclectic, modern lounge-styled renderings of tunes by artists such as the Police and Radio Head, as well as even more of their own compositions. Imaginative guitar and sax solos, a tight bass groove and impressive drumming, makes this band a force with which to be reckoned and one that keeps their audiences asking for more. This is of little surprise, as T-Dub's players hail from music institutions like Berklee, CalArts and the University of Texas. Learn more about Thelonious Dub at www.myspace.com/theloniousdub .
