Front Line Assembly to release new album

Metropolis Records announces June 8, 2010 as the U.S. release date for ”Shifting Through The Lens”, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY’s first single taken from the album IMPROVISED ELECTRONIC DEVICE which will be released on June 22, 2010.

"We needed a single for the record and felt that due to Front Line's alternative club play, this would be the perfect track," explains FLA mastermind Bill Leeb. "This track seemed to really gel and brought us together and got us really excited about the record. If there was ever a time to pick an obvious club hit, this was it. We'd like to give honorable mention to Craig Huxtable [FLA contributor and man behind Vancouver's Landscape Body Machine] for contributing electronically. Have you ever peered a dark key hole and saw something you were not supposed to?"

As a new quartet - Leeb, Jeremy Inkel, Chris Peterson and Jared Slingerland, Front Line Assembly are back in an extraordinary shape, gathering the sounds of their famous albums MILLENIUM and HARD WIRED.

This new vitality is apparent on all three songs featured on the new single and heralds the upcoming album Improvised Electronic Device as a hybrid of electronics and guitars, combining the best of both worlds. The six-minute extended A-side version "Shifting Through The Lens" is the most danceable track FLA has created in the last decade. Wandering on metal paths reminiscent of Rammstein and their own Millenium album is the second track “Angriff”. The exclusive nine-minute opus B-side "Endless Void" concludes this release and showcases the cinematic and technically advanced format of these magnificent four.
