Drake documentary to air om MTV

MTV is set to join hip-hop artist Drake in celebrating what will be one of the more significant summers of his life by premiering an exclusive one-hour documentary film, “Drake: Better Than Good Enough,” on Wednesday, June 23 at 10pm ET/PT. It is hard to believe that Drake is relatively new to the world of hip-hop and has yet to release a full-length album. However, today all that changes when Drake’s long-awaited debut album, Thank Me Later hits stores and his status goes from an up-and-coming rapper to a household name.

"I have always been hesitant to share the details of my life with the world but for the first time I am comfortable and confident that you will love this story" - Drake

"Drake is a gifted artist whose authenticity is resonating with our audience," said Dave Sirulnick, EVP, MTV Multiplatform, News & Music. "We are thrilled that he allowed MTV the exclusive opportunity to document such an important and personal time in his life.”

During the making of, “Drake: Better Than Good Enough,” MTV cameras follow Drake’s every move as he performs his "Away From Home" tour at college campuses across the country while simultaneously recording and releasing Thank Me Later. The film gives the audience and Drake fans alike uncensored access to the rapper’s most intimate moments as he deals with the reality of his rising stardom and the responsibility that comes with it, the difficulty of creating a great live show, and the pressure to deliver one of the year’s most anticipated albums.

During the week of June 14, Drake will be featured on MTV 24-7, as one of the network’s PUSH artists. MTV handpicks an artist a week and uses its massive on-air and online reach to bring that artist to the MTV audience through live performances, music videos, interviews and exclusive footage, everyday throughout the day, 7 days a week.

Viewers will also have access to previews, deleted scenes and MTVNews.com on the days leading up to the premiere of “Drake: Better Than Good Enough.”

@radical.media is the production company for “Drake: Better Than Good Enough.” Dave Sirulnick is Executive Producer for MTV. Justin Wilkes is Producer. Michael John Warren is Director.
