The Material to tour in support of EP release and upcoming album

Indie sensation The Material is placing the finishing touches on their fall debut full-length album titled WHAT WE ARE. Hailing from San Diego, CA, they have catapulted into the national limelight of up-and-coming bands. With their debut EP release "Tomorrow", the quintet effectively attracted the attention of media outlets within the worlds of television, internet, radio, and video games. Via the passion of their fans, The Material is the number one unsigned band in San Diego on Myspace's music polls.

The song "Moving to Seattle" from their first ep is featured on the video game Rock Band, they have had songs appear in MTV's "The Hills", the WB's "Sorority Forever", and had their video for the song "The Truth About Reality" programmed on MTV2. In March 2010, The Material released a new single titled "What Happens Next," which is now the opening theme song to the Australian Reality TV show "Freshwater Blue".

With three national tours under their belt, a huge underground following has grown via supportive fans that show adoration for band members Colleen D'Agostino (Lead Vocals); Jon Moreaux (Guitar); Kevin Pintado (Drums); Roi Elam (Guitar) and Dustin Sherron (Bass). The new album WHAT WE ARE drops September 2010 and will be followed by a national CD release tour.

The band is thrilled to have been selected as the opener for TEN dates on the MOTEL 6 ROCK YOURSELF TO SLEEP TOUR SPONSORED BY 1800MATTRESS.COM. The tour is an extension of publishing and marketing powerhouse Primary Wave Music's highly successful "Rock Yourself to Sleep Campaign.” They will share the stage with Every Avenue, Sing It Loud, The Secret Handshake, and There For Tomorrow.

Singer Colleen D’Agostino shared, “We owe a lot of thanks to our fans that have been voting to get us on this tour. We can't wait to finish recording this album and hit the road with some of our favorite bands. Motel 6 and 1800mattress.com both ROCK for continuing to support the music community.”
