"Wild Weather - Heat" screening at Caltech in July

Wild Weather—Heat, a high-definition documentary, will be presented on Saturday, July 10, at 2 p.m. in Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium. Kana Takematsu of Caltech’s division of chemistry and chemical engineering will introduce the program and guide the post-screening discussion.

This program traces the arrival of summer, from extremes of heat in the desert to a perfect summer in the temperate climates of the North. We visit the jungles of Belize, where the sun’s energy is most intense and where the weather is both wet and hot. Finally, we explore what it is like to be struck by lightning.

This program is part of Caltech’s participation in NASA’s Summer of Innovation, designed to inspire and excite youth about our universe and the world around us.

Admission to this program is free of charge and no tickets are required.

Beckman Auditorium is located on Michigan Avenue, south of Del Mar Boulevard, in Pasadena. For information, call the Caltech Ticket Office at (626) 395-4652.
