As the US racks up one of the hottest July's in history with record-breaking heatwaves across the country, Sony Independent Networks recording artist AUTOMATIC LOVELETTER just amplified the heat index a few notches higher with its scorchingly steamy new video for the single "HEART SONG" off of its debut album Truth or Dare. Directed by horror aficionado and current "it" boy for IFC, Chad Feehan, the video was shot on 8mm, giving it the warmth and eerie finish of a classic B-movie.

"It looks like a music video Rob Zombie would make - replacing blood and horror with rock n' roll and raunchy, yet tasteful, bare-skinned scenes," says frontwoman Juliet Simms. "All around, [it's] a balls-to-the-walls rock n' roll music video!"
Horror director auteur Feehan made a huge splash in his directorial debut, Wake, which stars Josh Stewart (FX's Dirt, NBC's Third Watch) and Jamie-Lynn Sigler (HBO's The Sopranos, ABC's Ugly Betty) as two unfortunate lovers who check into a wayward and sketchy hotel in the desert. The film made its premiere at the 2010 SxSW Film Festival and will be released on IFC Midnight's on demand platform.
Explains Feehan about his vision for the video, "In 'Heart Song,' Juliet is singing about seeing a guy standing on 'Baker Avenue,' falling in 'love at first sight' and subsequently, being shot 'straight to the heart'. This is the idea that I latched onto, but wanted to reverse the roles so the viewer was in Juliet’s shoes and Juliet was the object of desire; thereby, hopefully creating a stronger connection between song and audience. In the end, I believe we succeeded. After all, it’s hard not to fall in love with Juliet Simms."
Automatic Loveletter are currently on the 2010 Vans Warped Tour and will be announcing Fall touring plans shortly (confirmed tour dates below).
