Red-hot pop sensation Jason Derulo will embark on his first headlining tour of the U.S. beginning September 27th in Philadelphia, PA. The tour, which features special guest Auburn, will criss-cross the country before winding up October 29th in Fairfield, CT. Pre-sale tickets for AOL AIM Presents Jason Derulo powered by Samsung Mobile will be available August 5th through Ticketmaster and go on-sale to the general public on August 6th and 7th. Confirmed tour dates are listed below.
This is Derulo’s first tour of the U.S. since his six-week stint on the road with Lady Gaga on her sold-out “Monster Ball” tour of North America in January 2010. Derulo recently wrapped several support dates with Black Eyed Peas in Canada and will appear at the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan this weekend, before headlining his sold-out UK tour in August. His long-awaited U.S. headlining tour will be a five-week run between his European and Australian dates.
The first artist signed to Warner Bros. Records’ joint venture with Beluga Heights, Derulo is touring in support of his self-titled debut album, produced by veteran songwriter and hitmaker J.R. Rotem (Sean Kingston, Rihanna, Leona Lewis). The album has spawned three hit singles and established the Miami native as the breakout star of 2010. The triple-platinum “Whatcha Say” (which spent four consecutive weeks atop the Pop chart), and the platinum “In My Head,” made Derulo the first male solo artist to score consecutive No. 1’s on Billboard’s Pop Songs radio airplay chart in the chart’s 17-year-history with his first two entries.
“Whatcha Say,” which climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Rhythmic, and Pop charts, has sold five million copies, while Derulo’s second single, “In My Head,” has sold more than three million copies, both worldwide, to date. His third single “Ridin’ Solo,” has been certified platinum in the U.S., while its accompanying video has earned more than 17 million views on YouTube. Derulo has sold over 10 million singles and 600,000 albums worldwide. Collectively, his videos have racked up more than 200 million views on YouTube, making Derulo the channel’s 20th Most Viewed Musician of all time.
As part of the tour, AIM (http://www.aim.com) will be sponsoring contests to win a road trip to see Jason Derulo live in concert. AIM will use AOL Lifestream to allow concert goers to share content from the tour and to win a chance to meet Derulo after the concert. "Like" AIM on Facebook, (http://www.facebook.com/aim) to get updates.

Derulo has also been nominated for three 2010 Teen Choice Awards in the music category, including the highly coveted “Choice Music: Breakout Artist – Male.” “In My Head” has been nominated for “Choice Music: R&B Track,” while the album has been nominated for “Choice Music: Album – R&B.” Voted on by the public, the Teen Choice awards will be handed out on Sunday, August 8th, at Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheatre in a ceremony that will air on FOX the following evening, August 9th, at 8 pm ET/PT. Records Kara DioGuardi have created their own iTunes Celebrity Podcast, in which the two discuss and make a list of their favorite songs. The podcast, featuring their song selections, will be available for purchase on iTunes on August 10th.
