Award winning singer-songwriter Troy Castellano has been doing what he does best as a professional for more than a decade: creating heartfelt, conscientious, memorable music.
It is perhaps fitting, therefore, that the latest album from the Troy Castellano Group, and its most polished work to date, should have the simple title ‘2010’. It is a return to the studio after 10 years away and a snapshot - as modern and fresh as anything you’ll hear this year - of a band with an ear for music of the past, present and the future.

Castellano himself comes from the great alt-rock tradition that now that includes the likes of Lifehouse, Train, Rob Thomas, John Mayer and even a bit of Keith Urban.

While the music is a mix of all that is best about adult rock, indie and even some alt/crossover/country, it is also deeply personal and endlessly creative.

That’s because Castellano has been creating ever since he snuck into his brother’s bedroom to listen to everything from The Beatles to Kiss and Neil Diamond when he was a kid. It set him on the music-making road that has seen him work with some of the biggest names in American rock’n‘roll.

Indeed, while putting the finishing touches to ‘2010’, Castellano even found time to record guitar tracks for Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee’s new ‘Methods of Mayhem’ album – A Public Disservice Announcement (released 9/21/10). And you can’t get much better an endorsement than that…

But the accolades for Castellano come from far and wide. He has had his music licensed for placements on MTV, Score Keepers Music, Song & Film and the TLC Network. His songwriting has been described as “top notch” with a “tight, clean and interesting” sound by no less an authority than ‘Hello Music Publishing’.

As for the new TCG album ‘2010’, it is grown-up rock music for people who know what they like. It is superbly written and produced, by Castellano himself, without ever losing the gritty edge that makes his songs and sound so unique.

It is an album whose songs defy the sound of today’s AAA, AC and Hot AC artists. TCG is breaking the mold with an album that will appeal to anyone on the scene. It was mastered by music guru and pro audio wizard Craig Anderton. Craig is a veteran of the pro audio world with many credits including working with producer/engineers such as Tony Bongiovi (who engineered for Jimi Hendrix and co-owned New York’s legendary Power Station studio). Anderton is also a writer of many pro audio books and chief contributor and editor of EQ magazine and Harmony Central just to name a few.

After 10 years of playing for regional bands, pursuing and producing music for TV and film, Troy Castellano is back. Back with a brilliant new album and supported by an amazing band that includes bassist CJ Stahlberg, drummer Lee Brandenburg and guitarist Gary Wright, the Troy Castellano Group is back with a bang.

If you’re bored of the emotionless music that clogs the airwaves, ‘2010’ is the record for you.
The album can be purchased through the band’s web site (physical CD, Downloads, and Ringtones at www.troycastellano.com/store.htm ) or top online retailers such as iTunes, Amazon, Emusic, Zune, Rhapsody, and Napster.
