Clever Crooner Henry Wolfe Brings 'Linda Vista' to Life at LA's Hotel Café, 4/8
LA Times "Artist to Watch" Henry Wolfe will bring a breezy blend of simple 1970s melodies and textured, contemporary rock from his debut album 'Linda Vista' to LA's Hotel Café on Friday, April 8 at 10 pm in celebration of the album's release (4.05, Undermountain Records). Drawing on the "mischievous soft-shoe pop" of Harry Nilsson, the tongue-in-cheek wit of Randy Newman, and the modern sensibilities of Ben Kweller, Wolfe creates songs that are clever, yet simple, and gentle, but sturdy.
'Linda Vista' is anchored by hummable guitar and piano parts, on top of which Wolfe constructs spacious, cinematic grooves of keyboards, horns, and infectious background vocals. WHO: Henry Wolfe (Vocals/Rhythm guitar) with Aaron Older (Bass), Josh Collazo (Drums), Tay Strathairn (Piano), Stewart Cole (Trumpet), Robby Marshall (Saxophone) and Ryan Richter (Pedal Steel/Lead guitar)
WHERE: Hotel Café, 1623 1/2 Cahuenga Blvd. (between Hollywood and Sunset Blvd.)
