The online momentum is building for dredg--Gavin Hayes (vocals, guitars), Drew Roulette (bass, samples), Mark Engles (guitars) and Dino Campanella (drums, keyboards)—as they gear up for the May 3 release of their new album, CHUCKLES AND MR. SQUEEZY (Superball Music).
They’re all over the Internet with two pre-orders, which include bundles of exclusive merchandise, which can be found at CMDistro (http://bit.ly/igHxaK) and MerchNow (http://dredg.merchnow.com), and they’ve posted another teaser video clip on their various websites. It’s an animated clip--directed by Jorge Feres--set to the new song, “The Tent,” which can be seen at http://bit.ly/hq11z5. The band’s official website (www.dredg.com) has also been revamped, which includes a direct link to the pre-order website.
Fred Logue at Royalflushmagazine.com recently described the album as “…revolutionary…I can easily say that this is one of the best albums of 2011. I review a lot of band’s and their music…this is one of my top picks of all time. Their calm, almost haunting demeanor keeps me asking for more…Good bands are common, great bands are few and far between…CHUCKLES AND MR. SQUEEZY features 11 of the greatest, good mood inducing tracks that you ears will ever lay witness too.”
In touring news, dredg will soon head out on their first round of headlining tour dates (along with The Dear Hunter, Balance and Composure, and Trophy Fire) starting with two shows in Los Angeles on May 3 and 4 at the Roxy. Once that concludes on May 28, the band will take a very short break before heading over seas for a month’s worth of shows in Europe starting June 3.
