TheStage.tv offers online open mic
TheStage.tv, the first live streaming open mic format web site, announces their service to the masses as a unique form of web-based entertainment targeting both performers and audience members. Labeled “The World’s Open Mic,” TheStage.tv allows performers “queue-up” from around the world, in various genres, to perform in front of an audience for 3-6 minutes. The site provides the feeling of a live venue by empowering the audience to interact with performers through cheers, extending performance time, tips, and influence over the site’s leaderboard in real-time.Along with the open mic format, TheStage.tv is capable of having genre-specific channels (e.g. Country, Bluegrass, Jazz, Classical, Poetry, etc.), supports 3D webcams, and dual streaming "relay" which allows multiple performers to play together at the same time from anywhere in the world. "We developed TheStage.tv as a new and valuable form of web-based live entertainment, where users can enjoy diverse talent from all over world, and performers get an instant audience," said Lisa Hull, TheStage.tv’s Co-Founder. "The open mic format is ideal for performers who want to promote a new song, attract new fans and subscribers, and sell their music. Whether you want to see or be seen, TheStage.tv is a unique experience for both performers and audiences alike." TheStage.tv is also tightly integrated with social media services YouTube and Facebook. If desired, performances can be automatically uploaded to YouTube, audience members can subscribe to the performer’s YouTube account via TheStage.tv, and fans are notified via Facebook status updates and email notifications when a performer signs-up. Launched January 1, 2010, TheStage.tv has had over 50,000 performances by over 1,300 performers and has over 3,400 YouTube subscribers.
