Guitar Center's King of the Blues competition June 2

Guitar Center (www.guitarcenter.com ), the world’s largest musical instrument retailer, continues its support of aspiring artists as the store finals of the fifth-annual King of the Blues(www.guitarcenter.com/kingoftheblues ), takes place at Guitar Center locations across the LA-area June 2nd at 6pm. Stores include Hollywood, Pico & Westwood, Brea, Cerritos, Concord, Covina, El Cerrito, Fountain Valley, Northridge, Pasadena, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino, Sherman Oaks, South Bay and Stevenson Ranch. Local hopefuls will compete to reach the district finals of the nationwide search for the next great undiscovered blues guitar player.

Contestants are trying to further their quest to be one five finalists at the King of the Blues finals at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, where they will perform for a panel of celebrity judges, playing alongside guitar titan Warren Haynes. At the King of the Blues finals they will compete for over $50,000 in prizes, including studio time with Grammy Award-winning producer Pete Anderson. One winner from each of Guitar Center’s 218 store finals will be chosen to move up to district competitions (25 locations), followed by regionally hosted semi-finals (5 locations), which culminate in the King of the Blues grand finals.
