Gloria Miller releases album

Perky Record Company is thrilled to announce the release of Gloria Miller’s debut Jazz Album, “Let Go!”

“Let Go” is a musical journey through love, loss and recovery. Gloria Miller is a prolific songwriter, and each song comes from a deeply personal place covering an eclectic range of genres including, Swing Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Latin Jazz, R&B and Blues.

It’s been over 10 years since Gloria Miller’s last release and this long-awaited album shows her growth as a singer and songwriter. Production began on this project in May, 2009 and consists of 10 original songs. This recording was a collaborative effort with extremely talented musicians whose work has been associated with the likes of Natalie Cole, Diana Krall and Michael Buble.

Highlights include “He’s The One” which is a comedic look at how fantasy often gets confused with reality where love is concerned. Then there’s the Anita Baker-inspired “Your Touch” that is sure to be a Smooth Jazz favorite. No CD is complete without the proverbial “brag” song and Gloria Miller does this very subtly with “Shine” which includes a play on her nickname. Gloria Miller is originally from Chicago, which is renowned for being the home of "the Blues," and she was pleasantly surprised to learn that “Because of Your Love” is currently ranked #2 on the Indie-Music.com Blues Chart. This standing was certified by the International Association of Independent Recording Artists on September 27, 2010.


“I wrote this album on the heels of a devastating breakup and I saw writing it as a chance to pour out everything I was feeling as I travelled the road to healing. Often pain and suffering causes us to grow,” Gloria Miller reflects. “Ironically, when I was recording ‘Let Go & Let God,’ a memoir of the breakup, I had just gotten engaged to the man who broke my heart and inspired the song. Needless to say, the tears flowed in the studio during the playback … both tears of sadness in remembering and tears of joy in letting go of the past.”
Just after the US release of “Let Go” Gloria Miller got married and relocated from Chicago to the Portsmouth area in the UK.
