Equal Vision Records is proud to release Say Anything's fourth studio album, Anarchy, My Dear, out today. The album, which was produced by Tim O'Heir (Superdrag, Sebadoh, Say Anything), is currently streaming in full via Billboard and Spinner. In conjunction with the release, IFC has premiered the video for lead single "Burn A Miracle," which was directed by filmmaker Rasa Acharya - watch it here. The official music video for second single, "Say Anything," was recently filmed and directed by Darren King from MUTEMATH, and will be released soon.
As a thank you to their dedicated fans, Say Anything played a surprise, intimate show at the Viper Room in Los Angeles yesterday, which was live streamed online with support from Red Bull. The performance can be seen here and will be available onDemand from March 13th to 19th. The band will celebrate release day with an in-store signing and meet & greet at Second Spin Records in Santa Monica at 6pm PST. The band will be in Austin this week for SXSW and will then hit the road for a 32-date North American tour (SXSW schedule and full list of tour dates are below).
Early response to Anarchy, My Dear has been fantastic, recognized by Billboard as "49 minutes of focused maturity, impressive instrumentation and barrelfuls of frontman Max Bemis's acerbic and eloquent lyricism. It's also probably the group's crowning achievement." Alternative Press deemed frontman Max Bemis "one of contemporary emo's most gifted, honest songwriters," while Entertainment Weekly enjoyed the album's "bursts of sonic endorphins," encouraging readers to "see the sublime 'Peace Out'". Third single "So Good," hailed Rolling Stone, is "an atypically romantic number...[that] showcases the tender side of songwriter Max Bemis" and SPIN praised "Burn A Miracle," calling it a "white-knuckled, sore-throated, open-hearted call to arms."
