NY-based trio Heaven will be performing on Saturday, April 7th at Key Club with Swervedriver. Doors are at 8pm.
Heaven is Matt Sumrow (The Comas, Dean and Britta, Ambulance LTD), Mikey Jones (The Big Sleep, Adam Franklin, Snowden), and Ryan Lee Dunlap (Fan-Tan). After several performances at this year's SXSW, the band is touring the East Coast with Swervedriver in support of its self-titled 7", available now on Goodnight Records. They'll be releasing their full-length debut later this year.
Sumrow and Jones created Heaven in the wake of touring and recording with other artists. Last summer, they both worked with Adam Franklin, of Swervedriver fame, and Sumrow has been busy playing with Dean Wareham for three years, scoring Andy Warhol films and revisiting Galaxie 500 tunes. In the most perfect combination, they have put their own stamp on psychedelia and new wave, giving a nod to the artists they have respected and played with, while also creating something modern and unique. With art and passion, Heaven brings you a loud psychedelic show. They must be both seen and heard.
