GRAMMY-nominated DJ Quik and 93.5 FM KDAY personality "PJ"
WHAT: Musicians Institute (MI) welcomes DJ Quik as part of its ongoing “Conversation Series” with music industry notables. Hosted by 93.5 FM KDAY personality "PJ," DJ Quik will discuss his career and offer advice to an audience of MI students and alumni.
DJ Quik will discuss his career as a rapper, DJ and record producer that has had a considerable impact on Hip Hop since the release of his first studio album “Quik is the Name” in 1991. The album went platinum and would serve as the launching pad for a career that is still producing chart-topping recordings today. DJ Quik released his eighth studio album “The Book of David” last year and continues to produce some of the biggest names in Hip Hop. He has been nominated for three GRAMMY Awards for his work on 2pac’s “All Eyez on Me,” Jermaine Dupri’s “Life in 1472” and Jay-Z’s “The Black Album.”
