HGTV seeking new song

HGTV, America’s leading home and lifestyle brand, and Paste, the leading online destination for pop culture enthusiasts, are teaming up for the first time to give one lucky artist or band the opportunity to be the new sound of HGTV. Until September 5, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. E.T., musicians can submit their original songs at www.hgtv.pastemagazine.com, for the chance to have their music shared with an audience of millions. The winning song, to be chosen by Paste’s editors and HGTV producers, will become HGTV’s new sound for its upcoming House Hunters International marketing and promotional campaign.

“Music provides a soundtrack for your life,” said Jennifer Leitman, HGTV’s vice president of marketing and creative services. “We want to find songs that you just can’t get out of your head – songs that will inspire viewers and build a stronger emotional connection to our brand.”

The “Be The New Sound of HGTV” grand prize package includes:

•Artist/band credit in HGTV’s key press and promotional announcements for the campaign.

•A booking to play a Paste event during the 2013 SXSW Music Conference in Austin, Texas.

•A session booking to play one of Daytrotter’s recording studio outposts.

•A “Live from Paste” booking at Paste’s Decatur, Ga., headquarters or another location.

Nine additional finalists may also have their music featured on HGTV. The winner will be selected in September.
