Ventura Nationals Hot Rod & Motorcycle Show & Music Fest Sept. 1-2

The 10th Annual Ventura Nationals Hot Rod & Motorcycle Show and Music Festival rolls into to the Ventura County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 1 and Sunday, September 2. Guests will enjoy a variety of live music virtually all weekend, with acts starting at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday and 9:15 a.m. on Sunday. Other attractions include over 700 pre-1969 American hot rods, Kustoms, classics, trucks, low-riders, and motorcycles on display and a pin up contest judged by the legendary Ramone’s drummer, Marky Ramone, as well as the infamous television, film and celebrity auto customizer, George Barris.

Here’s a rundown of all the sounds you’ll hear:

Saturday, September 1, 2012 – Gates open 9:00 a.m.

Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 West Harbor Boulevard, Ventura, CA 93001

· Moonlight Trio: A Los Angeles based Mexican-American band who play a mix of roots rock, rockabilly, cumbia, and traditional Mexican music performed with a rockabilly twist…In other words, “Cumbiabilly!”

· Ray Campi: Legendary rockabilly pioneer who can slap his trademark white double bass unlike anything audiences have ever seen.

· High School Caesar: This five member country/rockabilly crew out of Texas describe their sound as “smooth whiskey with a hint of Tobasco.”

· Albert “Mr. Telecaster” Lee: This special guest out of England is known for his fingerstyle and hybrid picking technique.



At the After Party – 9:15 p.m.

Ventura Bowling Center, 1888 East Thompson Boulevard, Ventura, CA 93001

· The MuerTones: One of LA’s freshest new bands, they throw down a high energy take on the classic surf music genre.

· High School Caesar

· Cold Blue Rebels: A bit of performance art as the band pumps out a spooky, psychobilly sound complete with zombie dancers, blue makeup, and vampire fangs.



Sunday, September 2, 2012 – Gates open at 9:30 a.m.
