almost end o' the week musings

It's been one of the weird short-long weeks.
I performed and worked at the Body Art Expo. Take a minute (actually about a minute and a half) to view my video about the event at www.sgvn.com Pick a paper, then scroll to the videos box and click on Body Art Expo. And on my blog, you're viewing some of the photos from the 3-day buzz that were taken by Tom Thomspon, a freelancer for our paper.
My friend Art Aguirre (upper left) was featured as the "modern primative" on cable TV's "Mad, Mad House" a couple of years ago. He is noted globally as a piercing artist. His shop is Church of Steel in San Diego, for more info, visit www.churchofsteel.com
My other friend, Matt Kotch (up center), you see working away on a painting. He does realistic depictions of sea life, as well as fantasy or perhaps kind of kooky art which often depicts a double entendre if you take the time to really absorb it. I own one of his prints and plan to purchase some more of his work. See and learn more at www.fishheadart.com

Also, don't fret if you missed the Body Art Expo this time around- there are shows throughout the year, although the one in Pomona doesn't return until July. To find the next event, visit www.bodyartexpo.com

Next up for me is NAMM, 4-day show devoted to the music industry. During this time, instrument companies, musicians and press converge in Anaheim to show off the latest equipment, attend classes and lectures and discuss what's happening in the world of music. Watch for my video and photos on Monday.

In rotation this week Rob Zombie, Puddle of Mudd, Clash, Joe Walla and more Tribe of Gypsies.

Catch ya after NAMM... 'til then, keep on rockin'
