2007 Vocal Power Academy Singing Competition

World renowned Elisabeth Howard's Vocal Power Academy is having finals for the 2007 Vocal Power Singing Competition on Sunday, January 21st at the Catalina Jazz Club at 12 noon. Two preliminary auditions will have taken place on December 2 and January 13.
Twelve finalists will have been chosen - four in each of three categories: contemporary /commercial (blues, rock, country, jazz and pop), music theater and opera.There will be twelve judges, four in each category who will choose the first place winner in each category. This will be the way it works:
*Four opera judges vote for the first place winner in the opera category - prize of $200 - sponsored by the Intimate Opera Company.
*Four music theater judges vote for the first place winner in the music theater category - prize of $200 - sponsored by Backstage West Magazine.
*Four contemporary/commercial judges vote for the first place winner in the contemporary/commercial category - prize of $200 - sponsored by Music Connection Magazine. *The audience votes for "Audience Favorite" - prize of $200 - sponsored by LA WoMen in Music.
*The top finalists will receive a valuable CD manufacturing package, including bar code, from Disc Replicators International.
*All twelve judges vote for the over-all winner - prize of $500 - sponsored by the Vocal Power Academy.

The finals are on Sunday, January 21st.
Brunch for the judges is at 11am
Finals are from 12 - 2:30pm
