King Biscuit Records and Wolfgang’s Vault announced today that vintage concert recordings are being released for sale and download exclusively at the Concert Vault (http://www.concertvault.com/). At launch, fans will be able to purchase 52 live performance downloads from the extensive archives of Bill Graham and the “King Biscuit Flower Hour.” New concerts will be added as soon as they become available for download.

The initial set of concerts available for download feature artists including Iggy Pop, Pat Benatar, Steve Miller Band, and others. All downloads will be offered as full length concerts for $9.98 and will be encoded as unrestricted 256k mp3 files.

“Over the past four decades Bill Graham and King Biscuit have contributed greatly to the success and growing careers of many musicians,” said George Alexandrou, President of King Biscuit Records. “Artists are enthusiastic about the release of these classic performances to the public. They realized that we are offering an exciting alternative to traditional record deals that brings their music to old and new fans alike. We will be adding to the list of concerts available for download on a regular basis.”

“Since the Concert Vault began streaming performances in November, we’ve experienced explosive growth in listeners,” said Eric Johnson, Executive Vice President of Wolfgang’s Vault. “Downloads have been our visitors’ number one request. We are excited to announce this service as it creates a new revenue opportunity for artists and presents these shows with premium sound quality at an affordable price.”
