During the late ‘90s, Massachusetts saw many up-and-coming local rock acts rocket up the charts to stardom. Ten years later, it appears as though the region is readying for another uprising of hard rock acts – including the leaders of the pack, Till We Die.
“I haven’t seen a young band draw crowds like they do at their shows since the early days of Godsmack back at the Brewhouse in Haverhill, MA, ten years ago before they were signed,” says head of Screaming Ferret Wreckords, Tim Koukos. “These guys command the same kind of energy and presence as Godsmack did back then.”
Formed in 2004 by singer Matt Ingham and guitarist Joe Demarco, the duo soon enlisted the rhythm section of bassist Mike Laroache and drummer Dave Stewart. With a sound that manages to touch upon both Tool’s prog explorations and melodic rock, the quartet began playing out live, and immediately began turning heads – leading to opening gigs for such renowned acts as RA, Lacuna Coil, Staind, Tantric, Sevendust, Drowning Pool, and Powerman 5000, among others. Additionally, Till We Die has played countless shows up and down the east coast, and was offered to support a 40-date Jagermeister tour in October of 2005, where they played with Scum of the Earth. Due to their earlier successful opening spot for RA, the group has since invited the then-still-unsigned band on several tours of other parts of the country.
Joe DeMarco & Dave Stewart add, "It has been a long road to get were we are now, and hard to express the excitement of everything that's going on and happening all around us at this point. We feel this new material that we've recorded is some of our best work to date! We're looking forward to unveiling it to the masses."
Their live performance is what they have built their reputation on and are always giving fans a dynamic and intense set, and after recently signing to Screaming Ferret (distributed by Fontana), Till We Die has succeeded in translating their live experience to the studio. The group’s full-length debut, ‘Pressing On,’ will be released on Tuesday, June 19th, and will be followed by a CD release show at the Avalon in Boston, Saturday June 23rd.
