Support local music with Sierra Madre Sue

October 14, 1978 - that's the day I started working for the MUSIC PLUS record chain - 30 years ago today!

I was 18 and it was my dream job. And they certainly got their money's worth outta me! I worked any shift, came in on short notice, put in overtime, worked for free on my own time and spent most of my earnings there as well!

After becoming a store manager and doing 6 years in the stores, I transferred to the main office (SHOW INDUSTRIES) and did another 6 years in the Human Resources and Marketing Departments. I grew up there and got an education.

It was a very special company and I wasn't the only one who worked there for that many years. The owners took great care of us, financially and personally. Many life-long friendships and even marraiges came out of MUSIC PLUS.

That's why we are having a REUNION, THIS SATURDAY, 10/18 AT SIERRA VISTA PARK IN SIERRA MADRE, 2pm. Please pass this on to anyone you know who worked for the company, as we are rounding up as many alumni as we can.

...and extra credit to anyone who can identify what this 70's object is in the photo...
