Jewel to tour in January

Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Jewel will be hitting the road in January 2009 for a solo acoustic headlining tour. The three-time Grammy nominee recently released her first country album and seventh career album, Perfectly Clear, in June 2008 which debuted at #1 on the Billboard country charts. Supporting her career launch into the country music mainstay, Jewel had quite a busy year in 2008. With numerous visits to country radio stations across the US, Jewel's Top 15 country breakthrough single "Stronger Woman" posted more than 50,000 spins and earned the singer-songwriter a BDS Spin Award. Jewel also packed in a summer and fall tour with Brad Paisley, a judging seat on NBC’s “Nashville Star” and was married to rodeo superstar Ty Murray in a private beach-side ceremony.

“I really enjoy performing acoustically and have been looking forward to doing these shows,” said Jewel. “It gives me the chance to tell the stories behind my songs and connect with the fans in an intimate setting.”

In addition to the tour dates, Jewel will be participating in the second annual A Kiss for CountrySM philanthropic campaign with Mary Kay Inc., the Official Beauty Sponsor of the 42nd Annual CMA Awards. The campaign aims to raise funds for domestic violence prevention through the sale of specially designed celebrity “kiss cards” on uBid.com from Nov. 11, 2008 to Dec. 12, 2008. .
