Tim McGraw to host "Saturday Night Live"

Superstar Tim McGraw will serve as HOST on his first appearance on “Saturday Night Live” on November 22, 2008. McGraw becomes the first country music artist of the Millennium to host the show; others include Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks.

“I’m looking forward to hosting the show,” said McGraw. “I’m not exactly known for my comedy but then again if you’ve been to one of my shows you might feel differently. Hopefully hanging around Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon and Jon Favreau is good training.”

McGraw will appear in the Warner Brothers film “Four Christmases,” with Vaughn, Witherspoon and Favreau, in theaters on November 26. He also has a new COTY cologne, “McGraw By Tim McGraw,” and a children’s book, “My Little Girl,” in stores now.

Since his career began in the early 90’s McGraw has sold 40 million records with 30 #1 singles. He has launched an impressive acting career with 2004’s “Friday Night Lights,” 2006’s “Flicka” and last year’s “The Kingdom.” McGraw holds numerous awards including 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards, 10 American Music Awards, 3 Grammy’s, 3 People’s Choice and many more. He and wife Faith Hill hold the record for the biggest consecutive multi-year tour in country music history with a box office gross of $142 million dollars for their “Soul2Soul Tour” outings in 2006 & 2007.
