Think you can rock out like American Idol winner David Cook? Well now is your chance to show off your super star skills and impress America and David Cook-himself with the launch of the user-generated fan challenge “David Cook’s ‘Light On’ Challenge.”
Beginning Today, November 10 through December 2 fans can log on to DavidCook.VH1.com to upload themselves performing their best video version of David Cook’s new single, “Light On.”
To enter “David Cook’s ‘Light On’ Challenge,” first upload your video onto DavidCook.VH1.com, and then take the resulting embed code and place it on David’s official site DavidCookOfficial.com/challenge to share it with David and his other fans.
Visitors to both sites will be able to view, comment on and rate your musical efforts. You can sing it with a ukulele, sing it a cappella, or sing it with a full-blown band – it’s up to you how creative you’d like to be. You can even impress him by placing your own unique spin on his song. Don’t be shocked if he weighs in on which ones "tickle" him most on his personal blog and vh1.com.
This challenge is timed to David’s upcoming self-titled debut album, David Cook , being released Tuesday, November 18.
