Roxy Epoxy on tour

Often associated with such fierce and striking artists as Karen O, Siouxsie Sioux, and Chrissie Hynde, Roxy Epoxy made a lasting impact on the punk and indie community in her former band, The Epoxies. Now, freshly rejuvenated with her new band Roxy Epoxy and the Rebound, she's taking her fierce vocals and embarking on a short run of tour dates in support of her recently released Metropolis album Band-Aids On Bullet Holes. In anticipation of this tour, she's offering a FREE download of the new song "Svengali" from her new new album.

"I wrote 'Svengali' when Britney Spears was having her very public meltdown," explains Roxy. "Everyone just seemed so excited to see what she would do next. It's from the point-of-view of the moneymakers."

A pop-punk observation of the oft-times tragic manipulation of popstars and their disposable careers, Roxy casts a sympathetic eye towards these fallen idols.

"It's so sad seeing such young girls bought up, packaged, and criticised until they fall," she contrinues. "They grow up and have no sense of reality or adulthood. Their mistakes and flaws oftentimes get more attention than their talents. I'm glad I didn't get into this until I was older. It's like a big sociological experiment."

Band-Aids On Bullet Holes is a dynamic album of punkified New Wave and synth-infused rock that stomps when it should skip and gallops when it should sway. The herky-jerky pop Banshee-esque goodness of "New Way" hearkens the early anarchic days of the London Underground, while the thrusting and velvet-texture of "I Know I Know" adds atmosphere and drenches it with drama. The melodic infectiousness of "Dependence Leads Your Fortune" is a propulsive and explosive stunner with meandering keyboards and swirling guitars, punctuated with Roxy's extremely distinctive vocals.
