Emilie Autumn to tour in support of upcoming album

EMILIE AUTUMN has appeared in some of the most unlikely places. Once known as Courtney Love's "anarchist violinist", she's guested on albums by Otep, Billy Corgan, and Dethklok, performed on Leno and Letterman, had songs on soundtracks to Saw III and IV, and even appeared on Adult Swim's Metalocalypse. This Fall however, Emilie will be keeping the spotlight all to herself when she releases the seminal album OPHELIAC - The Deluxe Edition on The End Records on October 27, 2009 - just in time for Halloween! A national tour this Fall has been announced as well (tour dates below).

The ultimate American version of Emilie Autumn's entirely self-written/performed/produced double-disc masterpiece features five new and exclusive tracks, live concert footage, video interviews, and album out-takes previously unavailable.

Critically hailed and adored internationally, and racking up glossy covers and adulation by the bushel, Emilie has kept her audience tied to her corset strings. UK's premiere metal magazine Metal Hammer says, "This cherub-lipped musician-cum-singer is to the violin what 80s metal maestro Yngwie Malmsteen is to the guitar." Side-Line Magazine praises, "Her theatrical performance style and the mix of classical and industrial musical genres have earned her a rightful place in the spotlights." Emilie's devilishly dark lyrics, metal-shredding violin solos, and industrial-strength voice reinvent "gothic" for the masses, and goths have never had so much fun. With songs like the melodically epic "Misery Loves Company" to the elegant waltz of "The Art of Suicide" to the syncopated metal of "Liar", Opheliac shimmers in its black-veiled classical, goth, baroque pop. Originally released in 2007 and building a huge underground swell in indie communities, the album was widely celebrated and revered. ReGen Magazine characterizes it as an album with "a sugary veneer covering bitter hearts and broken dreams. [Opheliac] fits on your shelf between Tori Amos and Depeche Mode" and rated it a solid 4.5 stars.

Her live "shows" aren't just performances... they're events that sometimes encompass 2+ hours and include musical performances, performance art, readings... and sometimes BAKING! She has been known to have a fully-functional oven onstage and has baked vegan cupcakes while performing, serving the treats to her audience.

Known for her eccentric style (she makes all of her elaborate fashion ensembles herself) as well as her prodigious musical talent (she began reading notes before learning the alphabet and was already playing violin at four years old!), Emilie spent a good amount of her youth playing concert halls throughout the U.S. and Europe and studied under the tuteledge of world-renowned violinist Nigel Kennedy. Bucking against the trends and constraints of classical music, she dove headfirst into rock music, releasing a handful of records with Opheliac being her opus.
