Descanso Gardens is partnering with La Canada's Child Educational Center (CEC) to present a memorable outdoor summer camp experience for children entering grades 2 through 6.
Descanso Discoveries Summer Camp uses the magnificent outdoor classroom of the Gardens and offers plenty of physical activities, surprise and adventure under the oaks. Campers can try their hands at gardening, cooking, orienteering, science labs and more. With a goal to connect a child’s innate curiosity and affinity to the natural world, Descanso Discoveries presents these experiences in a safe and fun manner that will make kids want to come back every day!
There are three weekly sessions of Descanso Discoveries: Monday-Friday, June 21-25; July 12-16; and Aug. 2-6. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with before and after care taking place at the CEC. Parents can drop off children at the CEC for transportation to and from Descanso Discoveries as early as 7 a.m.; aftercare runs until 6 p.m.
The cost for Descanso Discoveries is $400 a weekly session.
