"Anita O'Day: The Life of a Jazz Singer" coming to Documentary Channel

The Documentary Channel® (DOC) presents the exclusive U.S. television debut of the critically acclaimed documentary “Anita O’Day: The Life of a Jazz Singer” on Monday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, chronicling the amazing life and story of one of the greatest American jazz singers, Anita O’Day.

“Anita O’Day: The Life of a Jazz Singer” tells the astonishing journey of survival, and above all the endurance of O’Day’s talent, told in a number of frank interviews with her and those who knew her. Her career was long and eventful, spanning seven decades, with her last album recorded when she was 84. This documentary of a legend was co-directed by Robbie Cavolina and Ian McCrudden who produced with Melissa Davis. Personalities talk about her quirky personality, while jazz critics and her few still living contemporaries speak of her extraordinary talent and how amazing it was that she continued to sing for so long.

DOC is primarily available through satellite television services DISH Network (Channel 197) and DIRECTV (Channel 267).
